I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. A web site that I visit daily,
www.pcmag.com, is suddenly inaccessible. I can log into other sites without a problem, but when I try to access www.pcmag.com, either through my Favorites or by typing in the URL directly, I get a long delay followed by the "Internet Explorer cannot display this web page." This problem cropped up suddenly and for no apparent reason. I can access the site on other computers on my network, so I'm the only one having this problem. Any suggestions? Regards, Ron |

Maybe it's a Flash or Java issue. The page opened fine for me, but the first thing up was an animated ad. You're not using the 64-bit browser are you? (Excuse my stupidity, but I don't even recall if there's a 64-bit version of Premium. If not, then my question doesnt make sense.) 64-bit browsers have trouble with some sites because there are no 64-bit versions of particular browser plug-ins. I forget specifically which plug-ins have that problem, but it could be Flash, Java, etc. I'm not sure. I'm sure someone will chime in and clarify. Anyway, that's the relevance of 64-bit to this discussion. Are you sure there's a 64-bit version of Home Basic? That seems to be a contradiction in terms -- 64-bit Vista Basic. Yes, I've cleared the cache a couple of times - temporary Internet files,
history, cookies, the whole batch. No change as of yet. Thanks! No, I'm running the 32-bit version of Vista. The puzzling thing to me is that
it has worked for months now and only recently began to be a problem. The fact that it's just that one site makes it even more confusing. I appreciate any advice or suggestions you may have. I followed your instructions and restarted my browser but the problem is
still there. Another oddity; at times when I type the URL into the address bar, it will take me to www.google.com and display the search results for "www.pcmag.com." The top result, of course, is a link to the PC Magazine web site, which I select in the hope that it will work - it doesn't. What now? Thanks for the suggestion - I thought it would work!
