Default Can HDTV Wonder record in .vcr format?

It seems to me that it doesn't do that. Its option page doesn't
have .VCR format for recording.

What version of MMC you are using may effect what you can do. I have
MMC9.06.1 installed at the moment. If I record using the Native format it is
in .VCR. The recording can be accessed in DTV through the "Recent
Recordings" or through Library or you can go to the folder the TVoD uses and
run the file.

Doesn't work like it used to though. The recording is a 1KB .VCR file with
markers to the actual video in the numbered .VCR files. If you can't see the
files, change the settings for "protected O/S files" and "hidden files" in
Folder Options.

IOW you don't have the actual stand alone .VCR file but you can use what's
there for watching later as long as the files stay in tact. MMC seems to do
a good job of managing this but if you run out of disk space it may be a
problem. AFAIK MMC will keep the associated numbered files for as long as
the 1KB .VCR file exists.
