Windows media player 11 needed validation to use?Howto have it fre

I was wondering why I need a validation for windows media player 11 and need
to pay for it when i have been using it before.
How will i use it again for free.

Where in the web were you asked to pay for media player,as microsoft doesnt
and never has asked for any money for it....Simply go to
microsoft.com/downloads/
media/locate the player.A OS validation is needed,but so are alot of
downloads.
