Default INF Failure

I am trying to install Windows XP Home on a Dell Dimension 4600 with a 160
gig sata drive. I get the following error message "INF Install failure.
Reason: The handle is invalid." This happens at 13 minuets before setup is
complete.

Is this the original hard drive? Clean install or repair? Are you using the
Dell install media?
