Print spooler not running Hp Laserjet 1020

Cannot print on HP laserjet 1020. Says print spooler not running. have
stsrted this in cmd window and also to automatic. Originally could not
see printers in printers folder but these are visible again. Problem
is that each time I try to look at properties of printer spooler has
stopped. But when I check it is still set to automatic. About to pull
the little bit of hair I have left out by roots - any help? Thanks

You have a corrupted driver in there somewhere. Disconnect the printer.
Blitz the drivers following Bruce Sanderson's instructions at:
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

Then reinstall the printer and do NOT reconnect it until the software tells
you to do so.
