Default How would you rate your ISP?

What do you think of your current ISP - are they as good as you'd like?

I'm currently with Demon Internet, and I've been extremely pleased so far I'll have a look around for new deals after the year is up, but I'm in no rush to switch.

I'm with Zen.

The Sunday Times voted them UK's Best Broadband Service in February 2007.

Their take on my ISP:

Quote:
Zen

Rated 18/20

www.zen.co.uk — from £18pm for 8Mbps broadband with 2GB cap, to £35pm with 50GB cap

Unsurpassed service and reliability

Zen keeps it simple by offering a no-frills service that is perfect for web aficionados and small businesses. It offers an internet connection only and can’t compete with big-brand phone and entertainment packages, but with a call centre staffed with technical experts and great network investment, Zen has been the choice of the cognoscenti for three years. The fact that it has short (one-month) contracts confirms confidence in its service, while a promised one-hour response time for faults is impressive.

Mostly in this world, you get what you pay for.

We've been with Clara.net for about 5 years, and have always found their service to be excellent (even on dial-up) They are also very helpful. I have only had to telephone them on one occasion when there was a connection problem, and was assisted by an extremely helpful technician.

I'm with Vivaciti, An Entanet reseller.

I pay £20 a month for a month by month contract. Up to 8mb, 30gb peak, 300gb off peak. 100 email address', 25mb of webspace. (I dont actually use the email or web space though)

Fantastic friendly customer support, via email or phone and no waiting in a queue!

Good speeds, no down time in the time i have been with them. Best of all no throttling or shaping.

Rated 3rd here

I'm happy.....until i find something better.

Been with Tiscali interweb for... 2 years now. Not really that good, we've been told we get 2MB for £14.99pm. D/L speeds are rarely over 100kb/ps.

Time to upgrade, maybe to sky since we already have a sky subscription thing going on... unless there is another isp that it phonomenal.

*Depending on line length and quality. You're probably too far from the exchange to receive the full speeds murdoch.

Whats your line attenuation?

Good checker here explaining the services and speeds available in your area.

Cable Virgin/media Network

2mb connection and I get 2mb connection so no gripes over the speed...

Since Virgin took over NTL about 4 months ago customer service has improved a great deal, you still have to wait on the line sometimes until you get an operator to speak to, but now when you have a problem they listen and act..Whereas before when it was NTL they couldn't be arsed to even listen most of the time..

So I think old Branston brain has shook the old firm up a bit and sacked a few middle managers sitting on there arses all day doing nothing, theres much more of an urgency going on there now...Which can only be a good thing..

Theres talk of the network getting another upgrade and people on 10mb connections will go to 20mb people on 4mb going to 8mb and 2mb going to 4mb all at no charge again like they did last year....Looking forward to that..

I voted Average in the poll and will be keeping a close eye on things at Vigin to see if things improve further...One thing I will say is my 2mb connection is completely uncapped and always has been, I'm not sure I could put up with a capped service..
