Default Uninstall WIndows XP Professional

I installed a new copy of this OS on top of my Windows
2000 professional because I thought I had an incurable
bug. Not the case. My problem is that I now have 2 OS's
on my laptop which is causing me some problems. How do I
uninstall the newer OS? I've tried several times to get
through to Tech Support at Microsoft but was on hold for a
hour each time. Can someone help?

hi sharyl,

if you installed XP on the same partition that would be a
big problem, but if the orignal OS which is 2K resides on
C:\ and the new OS you have installed resides on another
partition ex. D:\ then i can help you with that. just
format the other partition where the new OS resides and
modify bootcfg. tell me if this is the situation there and
i will take you through the next process modifying bootcfg.
goodluck..
