Internet Explorer will not open after Mail has been used

Default Internet Explorer will not open after Mail has been used


I installed BT broadband on my computer yesterday. I have Windows Vista
premium which was preinstalled on my computer when I bought it. The internet
worked straightaway and just had a niggle with the mail asking for a dial up
connection which I managed to solve by removing the old email account and
adding a new one (even though the details were the same). Since then I have
had a problem opening Internet Explorer, I get the program has stopped box
come up. I have reset the internet explorer settings after trying everything
else I could think of. This allowed internet explorer to open and work
correctly - thought I had cracked it. Closed internet explorer and went into
mail to check that was still working ok - it was. Tried to go back into
internet explorer and the program stopped box has come up again. Reset the
settings again - worked ok. It seems there is a conflict between mail and
internet explorer but I really dont know where to start to solve it. Can any
one point me in the right direction please???

Hi,
It sounds like you haven't found the troublesome browser add-on yet.

for troubleshooting information.

Also, if you're allowing an antivirus program to scan e-mail as it's being
downloaded, you should disable that feature. See Tip #3 at
http://www.oehelp.com/
