Hi,
I currently use XPPro as it includes IIS webserver which allows me to develop websites off-line. Does vista include IIS? If not, how would I go about having offline web development if I upgraded to vista? Thanks Hugh |

Depending on the version, yes Vista includes IIS (a new version with
backwards support for IIS6) Joe "hugh welford" <hugh.welford@btinternet.com> wrote in message news:ethXhEpkHHA.3264@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Hi, > > I currently use XPPro as it includes IIS webserver which allows me to > develop websites off-line. Does vista include IIS? If not, how would I go > about having offline web development if I upgraded to vista? > You need Vista Business, Ultimate or Enterprise workstation edition, because those versions have Web, FTP and Front Page Extensions on IIS 7.0 that match what IIS 6 has when doing Web development. |

Vista Home Premium requires a manual install of IIS. You will find it in...
Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features: Turn Windows features on or off: Internet Information Services.
