I've just installed vista Ultimate on a new computer. Everything was a clean
install, so I booted off the dvdplayer. Now when Vista is done with updates, the DVD is gone? Even in bios I cannot see it anymore. What to do? Vista seems unable to find any driver. Are there some generic ones I could use? |

By the way, this is not related to the error 39. In that case a driver is
installed, here it's not. "Linus" wrote: > I've just installed vista Ultimate on a new computer. Everything was a clean > install, so I booted off the dvdplayer. Until that happens, you are wasting time trying to get Vista to find it. Jim |

If BIOS is not finding it, NO OS will find it.
Check the cables and jumpers. If it still doesn't show in BIOS, try a different drive. It may have just died. Stranger things have happened.
