Default Need Drivers for Sony Handycan DCR-TRV38

I tried the XP driver from Sony but it doesn't work. Windows Update doesn't
have anything either.

Any suggestions?

Sony will be the first place to look for an update.
That model is near or already 3 yrs old, hopefully Sony will do something, but time may be against you.

Note: The XP driver from the Sony site is only a usb driver to connect and transfer files for the TRV38.
Did Vista not recognize the device when plugged in?

It recognized a device and asked for drivers. I forced an install of the XP
drivers. The device appears as a generic audio device in the device manager
but Windows Movie Maker nor the Sony transfer program recognize the camera
when connected. The computer does beep when the camera is turned off or on
so it must see something.
