Progress bar nonfunctional in "Find Message"

When using "Edit | Find | Message" there is a progress bar at the bottom of
the Find Message window. However, it doesn't show progress. Is this a bug,
or is it suppressed purposely, as is the progress indicator in Disk
Defragmenter.

This is a bother since all file operations seem slower in Vista, in contrast
to graphics, which seems faster.
