Default Vista Windows Defender causing registry handle leaks

Event Viewer is showing registry handle leaks (see warning message below). I
traced this Process ID back to Windows Defender. If I disable windows
defender, no more leaks. Has anyone seen this, or can anyone offer
suggestions as to what I can do about it (aside from leaving Defender
disabled)?

Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or
services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that
hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards.

Default RE: Vista Windows Defender causing registry handle leaks

I wiped the drive and re-installed. Defender still causes handle leaks. I
haven't installed any software on the machine aside from the OS. Oh, well.
Guess that's just how it's going to be.
