Default hibernate on shutdown menu

hello.

this seems to be the same problem as xp. i.e. hibernate not being an option
on the shutdown menu.

i have turned hibernate on so the pc is capable but it still isnt displayed
as an option on the extra shutdown menu. on my laptop it is in the menu, but
on a new desktop it isnt. microsoft seems to think that a laptop might make
use of it where as a desktop will not. but i find hibernate to be a good
option between shutdown and sleep, because sleep still uses some electricity
and a full shutdown takes a while.

any way to show it on the extra menu? (to get it to show in xp i needed to
download a hotfix.)

steve

Steve,

See if this applies.

The hybrid sleep feature and the hibernation feature in Windows Vista may become unavailable after you use the Disk Cleanup Tool:
