Hello, Please can you tell me how I can add entries into the hosts file.
Every time I try and save the modified file I a message saying that I don't have permission. I have also tried making sure the folder "etc" is not set to read only but I still get access denied. Thanks SK |

Right click on it and "Run as elevated/administrator" if the option is
there - or reboot in safe mode and login as the Administrator (by default, the password is blank) and edit it there )-- Zack Whittaker » ZackNET Enterprises: www.zacknet.co.uk » MSBlog on ResDev: www.msblog.org » Vista Knowledge Base: www.vistabase.co.uk » This mailing is provided "as is" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Make sure you start Notepad/Wordpad/whatever using "Run as Administrator" or launch it from a CMD prompt that was started using "Run as Administrator". -- Steve Foster [SBS MVP] --------------------------------------- MVPs do not work for Microsoft.
