Hi
I am trying to integrate windows vista in a domain (w2k3). Everything works execpt when the user logs in there is a temporary profile created and the domain profile is not downloaded. I loose everything after each new login. Event IDs logged are 1521 and 1530 User profile service. Is windows vista not yet ready for domain logins and roaming profiles? |

I am also having this problem. My profile such as John does not get loaded
with Vista. Vista insteads makes a JohnV2 profile folder within the profile folder that the server has. Vista also takes a long time for the desktop to be create after login. It sits with " loading your Desktop" for about 15 to 20 minutes. xpwe, those errors codes under the Vista machine or in the server? Hi,
Error messages are reported on the client. Server does not display any errors. I tried to create an directory with the correct permissions. Did not help. I tried to copy the server profile onto the client. Did not help. I removed the profile setting in active directroy. 1 attempt it looked great. Then I fiddled around and the next logon it was back to the TEMP User profile. I don't know what exactly happens or under which name the directory get created. I suppose that domain user profiles are also stored just as under windows xp. Only the folder is Users. Maybe the beta does not support roaming profiles. Is there someone who can help? Another one with this problem - when I try using roaming profiles I get about
15 minutes of "preparing your desktop" then a temporary profile. Managed to get it to use an XP profile once from the network, but most of the time it's not working. Any ideas out there? |

I'm using NT Domain, but when I forst logged into the domain I had a
generous 5-10min wait while it was preparing my desktop, but it was only a 1-time long wait.
