I want to move my personal folder to the location on the other partition
where my old personal folder (the one from XP) is stored, (aka I want to further use my old and beloved one) How can I do this? In XP, it was easy: My files->right-klick->move. Thanks in advance Volker |

Volker,
Instead of moving the file simply go to Outlook's "File" menu and select "Open" then "Outlook Data File". Point to the old PST file (XP PST file) in it's location and open it. You'll then see another set of Personal Folders appear in Outlook's Mail Folder list. Once you see the new added Personal Folders simply go to Outlook's "File" menu and select "Data File Management". When the dialogue opens select the old Personal Folders listing corresponding to your old XP PST file and click the "Set as Default" button. Once done, go back to Outlook's main view and Right-Click on the new Vista Personal Folders (the one you created when you installed Outlook after installing Vista) and select "Close Personal Folder". Voila!... you're done and your old (original XP PST file) is now your default PST for Outlook in Vista. PS: If you had email in the new Vista PST file then you can drag them into your older XP PST file before closing the VISTA PST file. HTH! Doug, where does he mention Outlook? I thought he meant the new equivalent
to "My documents". "Doug" wrote: > Volker, > > Instead of moving the file simply go to Outlook's "File" menu and select > "Open" then "Outlook Data File". How silly! When I read Volkers post I thought he said personal PST folder.
Feeling a bit sheepish at the moment ![]() Doug "Ian M.
