Try logging in as the administrator, or disabling UAP. It could be because
that the user you are logged onto doesn't have permission to actually create a user. If you check out www.zacknet.co.uk/vistabase and click Security, there are a couple of articles there about UAP and how to disable it. If you also boot up in safe mode, the administrator will come up as default so you can create users there )-- Zack Whittaker Microsoft Beta (Windows Server R2 Beta Mentor) » ZackNET Enterprises: www.zacknet.co.uk » MSBlog on ResDev: http://msblog.resdev.net » ZackNET Forum: www.zacknet.co.uk/forum » VistaBase: www.zacknet.co.uk/vistabase » This mailing is provided "as is" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Zack, Andre,
Thanks for the pointers, disabling UAP allows account creation from the command line. This is going to make deploying applications a real pain on Vista. Our current installation procedure, requires an account that is a member of administrators in order to install the software. Most corporations we sell our software to, will not allow joe user to login as administrator to install our software. Some IT groups even have a problem providing an account that is a member of administrators on the local computer. For our less sophisticated customers, I can see disabling UAP being the first thing we suggest doing. It sure beats clicking Allow on all those dialogs. Ad. I think UAP is still being worked out. To be honest, too many things
require, its frustrating. -- -- Andre Windows Connect | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Adrian Moore" <queryadataset@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:e0TKyKxQGHA.4688@TK2MSFTNGP11.phx.gbl... > Zack, Andre, > > Thanks for the pointers, disabling UAP allows account creation from the > command line. > > This is going to make deploying applications a real pain on Vista.
