Default Access to Gmail without POP?

Can someone on the WLMDB team answer this question? In the FAQ it states
that there is access to Web-based accounts like AOL and Gmail. It then goes
on to talk about access to POP/IMAP account separately. Does this mean I
can add my Gmail account as a web based account in the same method as WLCD
email account?

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Windows LiveT Mail Desktop Beta let me get e-mail from more than one
e-mail account?
Yes, you can add multiple accounts, both Web-based ones (like MSN® Hotmail®,
AOL and Gmail), and POP3- or IMAP-enabled accounts (the kind of e-mail you
usually get on your desktop with an e-mail client like Microsoft® Office
Outlook®).

These are the newsgroups for Windows Vista *only* not Windows Live.

Toby:

There is no special interface for gmail, please follow these instructions
for outlook express, and you should be able to access your gmail account
using POP access.
