There is a newsgroup on this server for Vista Windows Mail issues. I'm
adding it to this message. The server will only take images of about 80 Kbytes as previously indicated, but small images for clarification are not a problem. What were the bugs you found? steve MS-MVP Outlook Express Windows Mail "AMDX2" <s@s.com> wrote in message news 22E3E7E-17C0-4A6F-B13B-B63B7CFA4190@microsoft.com...> Hey, as some people might have the ability to get screen shots of bugs, is > it ok to post them in here attached to a message about this bug? So far I've encountered 2 >> pretty serious bugs in Windows Mail. In my opinion they are serious. > Steve, thanks for the message. I've already got the vista.mail newsgroup, I forget if I posted in there or not, lol. Umm, I did submit 3 or 4 bug reports to MS using the reporting tool and with the 2 bugs or 3 bugs I found in Vista.mail one of them I attached the screen shot. There is a bug that when you create a news server account and it asks if you want to download the group list, it won't. It starts to and then stops saying an unknown error has occurred. Every single time. It does download some of the groups from the list, but not all. The other bug is a visual anomoly in the group list window. When you load the group list window and there are group names in there you wil get a visual bug if you click on the scroll bar to the right. It won't drag with you hardly plus when I click on it it turns into a big greyish color spot that takes over the whole scroll bar itself or most of it and then to the left into the group list area itself covering up some of the names of groups. Also when clicking on the scroll bar for me the first time i did this it didn't move the scroll bar but it thought i clicked in the group list window itself and was selecting for me the group list and highliting the names. I didn't click in the group list window, but right on the scroll bar. I want to create a new news server, but it won't let me because it won't download the group list for me. ![]() |

Do you work on Mail or anything since you said us to make a better product for you? The news server I am wanting to get connected to in Windows Mail is usenetserver. www.usenetserver.com news.usenetserver.com is the address. |

A workaround if you want to access a particular NG on that server would be
to create a URL to the NG and then you can stick that into Start | Run to go to that NG, or make an HTML file and click on the link. news:// newsservername / newsgroupname without the spaces. Clicking on that will load up the NG and you can then subscribe to it. steve "AMDX2" <s@s.com> wrote in message news:E7D7223F-A10D-49A9-A302-E73563790B95@microsoft.com... > "Highspar" <Highspar@invalid.com> wrote in message > news:7E9AE803-6C84-47EF-856C-6A0562341866@microsoft.com... >>> There is a bug that when you create a news server account and it asks if >>> you want to download the group list, it won't. I think since my xp box has this all working fine since it's xp I'll wait till Vista is released again later with the bug fixed. |

The method is used quite a lot in the OE newsgroups, in an attempt to get posters away from using the Web interface, instead of using the tool that they are asking the question about. Generally because many of those posters rarely find their way back to the interface to find the replies. See this sig' -- You will find that this is a much better way to post a question: news://msnews.microsoft.com/microso..._outlookexpress -- Regards Steve. MS-MVP. OE. [DTS] |
