What's the significance of having the Preview pane just up and disappear in
certain folders, not even available as a selection anymore? Or maybe I should be asking, in what kinds of folders is that pane available? For example, it's not available if I navigate to my message store folder (C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail). Also in those message store folders, what's the significance of the blue file/folder names? How are they different form the not-blue items? |

The disappearance is fixed in 5365 and the blue folders are called Virtual
Folders, it stores information based on a specific topic you might have searched for and decided save. The folder automatically updates itself with data relating to that search query you might make a few months later. So, you have information stored on all meeting agendas, anytime you store information in your Documents folder or anywhere on the PC, it automatically updates the blue folder with information on Agendas. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Puppy Breath" <alan@coolnerds.com> wrote in message news:E8191F4B-72EC-4BAD-9039-BC76D9217771@microsoft.com... > What's the significance of having the Preview pane just up and disappear > in certain folders, not even available as a selection anymore? Like in Windows XP, blue files and folders are compressed ones. Saludos Roland -- Probleme mit OE? Hier gibt es die Lösungen: <http://oe-faq.de>! "Many that live deserve death. Yeah, I realized after I posted that they probably are just compressed.

To clarify for others (me included
, blue text labels on folders and filesindicate compression in XP and presumably Vista. Blue folder icons in Vista are Search Folders.
