Default Vista networking issue

Hi All please could you help

I have a desktop and laptop both running Vista, i have connected them
together via a adsl 4 pot router/ethernet switch in order to establish a home
network.

From my laptop i can see the desktop pc and explore its public folder but
from my desktop pc i cant explore my laptop public folder

I can see both computers in my "View Full Site Map" and both computers are
set up as discoverable.

Please Advise?

Richard
