Running Vista, and I keep losing the wireless connection. When I
troubleshoot this, I'm told that "The windows wireless service is not running on this computer". I'm then allowed to start it, and everything is then OK. Any ideas what this is / how I prevent it? |

I have a similar issue, each time I startup, I have no network connection,
when I diagnose, It says "The windows wireless service is not running on this computer". I start it then everything's ok (it finds my wireless network), until I shut down, then next time I boot up, same problem. How do I set the Windows Wireless service to Auto-Start, I can't find it in the list of services. I am running Vista Ultimate, with a Linksys Wireless-G USB Network Adapter |

The wireless service is named "WLAN Autoconfig" -- if you go into your
Services list (Start, right-click Computer, Manage; Services) it should be toward the bottom. Yeah from what I can tell is only automatically started when Vista notices
that you have a laptop. My laptop has it already but I had to manually set this on my PC. Hey Microsoft - how about this automatically starts when you detect a wireless card?!
