Default VPN - Has anyone gotten it to work

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has gotten Vista to work with VPN's yet. I have
tried to connect to PPTP and IPSec VPN's, but NOTHING works. It doesn't
even tell me why the connection failed. I look in the event viewer and
there is nothing to be found...

Any insight would be appreciated. All of my VPN connections work with the
built-in XP client or the Cisco Client...

If it helps, get the XP style settings up so you can see the settings more
clearly.

And how is a shortcut to the Ethernet options gonna help?
I could easily access this without cluttering my desktop by clicking Start >
Network > click "Network Center" on the toolbar and click "Manage Network
connections" in the left pane.

Stewart, this article might better help you troubleshoot your VPN problem:

Some people find it easier using native settings in XP - I still find it
easier to do it this way then faff around in the Network Center.

The thing is, Network center icon is constantly displayed in the
notification area, simply double click it and click "Manage network
connections" in the left pane and you are there.

This has to do with Wireless LAN's, not VPN's...

Yeah, I realize its not specific to VPNs, but it did mention some info on
it.
