Default Remote Assistance Firewall

Anyone happen to know what port(s) you'd need to open to use Remote
Assistance through a (non-Windows) firewall?

How about Remote Desktop?

The ports should be the same. Can't you just add the Remote Desktop/Remote
Assistance applications to the firewall instead?

Yeah, in Windows Firewall you can to that. I'm just wondering if I had some
other firewall up, what ports would I need to open?

Whichever 3rd party software firewall you used would automatically open the
correct ports once you have given the program that needs to connect
permission to do so in said firewall.

3389 is the proper port for Remote Desktop. I have not had any issues though
Connecting through RDC to my XP laptop. Thats how I work with Vista.

Do you have TS installed or something? I can't connect to/from my XP laptop.
I always get an error message about no Terminal Server. (Though this laptop
also have the PX Home Edition installed, which I'm sure doesn't help).
