Default Pinning items to the start Menu

I have pinned many of my "most used" programs to the start menu...but most of
them will not open the program now that I've installed Vista...is there a
solution for this...
I've removed them and re-added them to the start menu....some will work,
however....there are still a few that won't...

Thank you
