I've just installed Beta2 and am running it on a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ chip
with a K8V-X mb with the latest drivers. I have 1GB of memory and 256MB of video memory with a NVidia GEForce FX 5700LE video card. When I switch users it can take up to 6 minutes to either get to the user list or load the desktop settings for the new user I've selected. It doesn't seem to have a pattern as to where it hangs and sometimes it's a little faster but it's always slow....just REALLY slow sometimes. I did see another post about themes being a problem and the if you turn them off you can improve a black screen hanging that another user was having but wanted to get some other opinions before I try that. Is there something else I can try or is it a known bug?? Thanks in advance. |

Is the system joined to a domain? Could it be that you are loading user
profile from a domain and the link is slow? -- Regards, Yuriy This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
