I am using Vista Ultimate version 5381 and when hovering my mouse over text
it shows the text cursor but instead of it looking like an I it looks like a T and there is a bunch of horizontal lines running accross, just wondering if anyone else has this issue and if it is resolvable. If someone could let me know ASAP that would be awesome Im using an ATI 64MB 8500LE Display Adapter and an MSI KT4V mainboard with a VIA chipset |

Sounds like a issue with the display driver, you might want to check if
there is an update available. The cursor bar shows as an "I", no lines or other distortions here. -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Steven Bruce" <stevenbruce@eastlink.ca> wrote in message news B354A4B-E028-4924-82AB-031925F48EDA@microsoft.com...>I am using Vista Ultimate version 5381 and when hovering my mouse over text > it shows the text cursor but instead of it looking like an I it looks like > a > T and there is a bunch of horizontal lines running accross, just wondering > if anyone else has this issue and if it is resolvable. > > If someone could let me know ASAP that would be awesome > > Im using an ATI 64MB 8500LE Display Adapter > and an MSI KT4V mainboard with a VIA chipset |

It may be a driver issue. Or something with the 8500LE card and Vista. Have
you downloaded the newest ATI drivers from them? It may be fixed by ATI drivers rather than MS's built in ones. After logging off and when the computer goes to shutdown my computer locks
completely up and I have to shut down manually by the button. How do I fix this ? Anyone having the same problem or did I setup something wrong .... My search of the newsgroup didn't report a more recent message on this bug, but I've encountered it too (Build 5472, ATI 1900GT). It started as soon as I engaged my second monitor, and had the glitch with both MS and ATI drivers. The glitch appears in certain columns/rows of the screen only, and it only appears on the basic B-W cursors (I-bar, window sizers, etc); it does not appear with the default shadowed arrow cursor. I'll file a feedback report on it I suppose. |
