"This would be slow even on the fastest of computers. This is why
programs
such as OneCare Live have it scheduled for when you're not using the
computer."

Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant Auto-Defrag after a period of inactivity.
Somehow I find scheduling is useless for consumers because people just
turn off the computer before they go to bed. And how is the computer
going to wake up at 3 to do defraging? I know Vista might change things
this time but defaulting things to Sleep, but even then it might be
better to set it to auto-defrag at say...

"Sleep (Fine-Tune)"

You know in WinXP SP2 when Autoupdates are available, a little shield
icon appears on the top right corner of the Turn Off button? How about
that for maintanence?

But anyhow, my point is let the user do less work to keep their
computers running at top speed.

"Yeh, integration can be great, however what if you just want one of
them doing?"

Easy. In Windows OneCare (NOT LIVE), just click one of the specific
maintenance tasks in the normal routine list then it'll just do what you
ask it to. Again, having one place for all this stuff will bring loads
of comfort.

Regards

Hmmm, that's acually a pretty good idea. I always put my computer in sleep
mode as I just don't want it on all the time. So it's rarely on at scheduled
maintainance. I like it!
