What about Tablet PC and Media Center Editions? I guess these will be able
to upgrade only to the Ultimate edition.

Why not think through the issues a little before posting?

Downgrading has real technical and user issues, such as handling the
security rights of objects which have been created on higher-level SKUs,
and which don't exist on the lower-level SKUs.

yeah, but its soo predicatable that xp tablet and media center WON'T be able
to downgrade to home basic.

At least windows 2000 Professional DIDN'T allow you to go to Windows XP Home
Edition.

besides, home basic CAN'T run Tablet and MEdia Center components, it's just
not there...

and I do know the benefits of downgrading. It's just Microsoft.
