How well is your machine protected from malware? Your Explorer problem is
most often caused by trojans or spyware. It could also be caused by some of
the (legitimate) software installed by your computer supplier. We need more
details: computer brand and model, OS version and update status...

Turn up the Volume control, turn down the "Wave" control a bit, and then
mute any others - that should sort it ;o)

AFAIK, the SBC Yahoo "online protection" only applies to e-mail. If you surf
to sites with hostile scripts, or download files with malware, you're not
protected. You need an antivirus, an anti-spyware, and preferably a better
firewall than the Windows built-in one. Meanwhile, you can scan your machine
online at the House Call site: http://housecall.antivirus.com
You should also download and install the free anti-spyware scanners SpyBot
(http://www.spybot.info) and Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com), keep
them up-to-date, and use them regularly.
