sandisk memory & superfetch; minimum requirements?

Hi,

I'm trying to use a sandisk USB memory to extend the memory of Vista (for
the prefetch)
But Vista says that the memory doesn't fit the performance requirements.

what are these requirements?

what type of USB flash drive or other system could be used with Vista?

I'm not too sure what they are yet as they haven't released specifications
yet, however I'm guessing USB 2.0 must be somewhere in there...

well... I'm using USB 2.0 devices.

how can verify the speed really used and if the device is detected as USB2.0
or 1.1?

Not too sure you can actually do this within Windows... however if you are
using a USB 2.0 device and you insert it into a USB 1.1 port, a little
systray icon will make an appearance saying that "this device can go much
faster". Then it'll help you find the USB 2.0 ports on your machine.

Quite handy ;o)

Yes, 2.0 UBS Memory sticks are recommended for Windows Superfetch/Ready
Boost. If it is you will be asked if you'd like to use this device to speed
up system performance. You also have the option to use Windows ReadyBoost
with an already connected USB flash device by accessing the properties of
that device. You can choose to allocate part of a USB drive's memory to
speed up performance and use the remainder to store files.

I believe the first time (or any time afterwards if you don't first select
it) on the AutoPlay menu - it'll give you the option for this at the bottom
) So there's no difficulty in selecting a device - simply plug it in and
if it's compatibile, it'll give you the option to use it as a
Superfetch/ReadyBoost device.

It's hard to say - SuperFetch (although some may regard as an older
technology) is still in beta as is the operating system. There'll be more
documentation coming out in the following weeks/month or so.
