Yes, I am using a nVidia Geforce FX 5200 128MB AGP here and it Glass runs
just fine, just that if you have lots of windows open, up to 20, it tends to get slow. How much vRAM is in your card? Windows Vista recommends a minimum of 64 MBs of vRAM, with a WDDM driver, and support for Pixel Shader 2.0 technologies. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Jeff" <jeffwhat41@comcast.net> wrote in message news:eMSqLV5VGHA.4772@TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... > Any comments on Nvidia Geforce 5200? An FX5200 should work fine as long as you're using it for relatively low
resolutions like 1024x768 or lower. You probably could run it at higher, but it probably wouldn't be as smooth. I always recommend 256MB of video RAM to make sure that you don't have problems with maxing out your VRAM with Vista. (Especially if you're running a graphics hungry program on top of the Aero Glass.) 128MB of VRAM will work, but it may tend to get a little cramped with lots of things running. And with 64MB, don't expect to run lots of things at the same time. (Although it will work for just basic computing.) Per Vista suggestion, I bumped mine up to 1280, and it works fine.

I just installed one on one of my computers yesterday (256 meg video RAM).
Works fine, and the card is inexpensive to boot. -- Regards, Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User Quote from George Ankner: If you knew as much as you think you know, You would realize that you don't know what you thought you knew! On a similar note, does aero glass work on an NVidia Geforce FX 5200Go? Do I
have to get the latest forceware? Do I have to install the Vista beta or the legacy XP drivers? Carlos,
I don't have access to Vista yet; but the latest Nvidia driver for the Ge-Force FX5200 for XP(not Vista) does exhibit "Areoglass" like features already; I get the translucent effect on some apps-but not all. Very Cool!!
