Does NOTwork Windows Mobile Device Center new ActiveSync w Vista??

How do you get this to work?
I had ActiveSync 4.2 on Win XP SP2. I uninstalled as the Upg Advisor showed
it not to be compatible. After upgrading to Vista, I downloaded and installed
"Windows Mobile Device Center" I tried syncing it just never finishes and
there are no error messages either. I left it running overnight for 6 hrs,
still nothing. HELP!
It is a shame to see Microsoft own SW not working....
