Default NTFS troubles after Vista upgrade

I "upgraded" my XP Pro to Vista Business.

I had some files under D:\WORK\PROJECTS that had a complete NTFS permission
block for administrators, but SYSTEM could read them for backup purposes.
Now, I can no longer access these files, but I can claim ownership (the old
SID own them) and then add myself and give permission on each file.
However, I have to do this manually on each file, as I am not able to set
this to D:\WORK\PROJECTS and let all files under PROJECTS inherit
permissions...

How can I resolve this?

Hello,

- Open an elevated command prompt (right-click command prompt and click run
as administrator), type:

takeown /F D:\WORK\PROJECTS /R /A

After that, you should have no problems adding permissions to the folders
and all subfolders and files.
