Default Vista RC1 install error, stops 1/2 way and opens command a prompt

Hello everyone,

When i try either upgrading from Beta 2 to RC1 or doing a Custom install
(all while logged on to vista beta 2) everything goes well until the first
reboot (after expanding files, step 3). After the system reboots, it does its
normal load with the new RC1 green boot loading bar. Then the screen gets the
Vista install background screen (green energy thing). After about a minute or
so, a command prompt comes up with the tag line -- X:/windows/system32/_
waiting for me to imput something. When I X out the command promt, the system
restarts and im givin the boot option menu of either an Earlier version of
windows (Which is my corrupted XP install), Windows Setup (which just brings
me back to the command prompt), or Microsoft Windows (which brings me back to
my Beta 2 install which tells me when i boot that the Windows Installation
failed and that my original copy of windows was restored). I've downloaded
RC1 twice, burned 2 DVDs properly, and attempted installing over 5+ times
with each and everytime suceeding to step 3 expanding files with no problem,
then after the first reboot only getting a command prompt and not finishing
the installation. Vista Beta 2 works and installs fine and my computer is
Windows Premium Ready with over 1 GB of ram and all that other stuff. Help!
:-D

(P.S.) Im dual booting from a new 250GB internal hard-drive which Beta 2
works on, for those who haven't figured that out yet
