Default CD/DVD driver RC1

I see several posts similar to my experience:

I have an NEC ND-2100AD DVD+RW. Computer boots off Vista RC1 DVD I burned,
it loads to install screen, and then Vista reports "A required CD/DVD drive
device driver is missing". No compatible drives are listed and install must
be aborted.

Except what's odd is Vista Beta2 installed just fine in the exact same
way... what changed?

Default RE: CD/DVD driver RC1

I had the same problem, except I have a Lite-on SOHW-832S. I replaced the 40
wire ribbon cable to the drive with an 80 wire cable and RC1 installed.
