Media Center Icon Vanished

Can anyone tell me how to get an Icon back to my shortcuts in Vista
Ultimate.
For some reason over the past few days, and I've only noticed it now, my
Media Center Icon has vanished. I can still get it to work by finding a TV
program I recorded a while ago and starting the recording which activates
Media Center...then by stopping the playing of the recording I can go
through all the normal functions of the Media Center.
It doesn't even show up in the list of items recently used above the Start
button after watching TV for a while.
Any solutions anyone?

Having read through other peoples problems of vanishing Icons, they've
appeared to have recovered them by doing a System Restore, but looking at my
System Restore for some reason there are NO system restore points
recorded....even though it's switched on......and my system restore is not in
the System Tools folder in the Start/Program where I expected to find it.
Does this really mean I have to reload Vista again? or is there a way of
recovering the System files from the DVD.
Major headache about to appear...
