Default HP Advisor on Windows Vista

RE: HP Advisor. Upon launch, it says HP Advisor has stopped working.
My latest HP update is 4.0.5.7 I have a new HP Pavillion with Windows Vista
preinstalled on it. Is there a fix for this and where do I get it?

Hi Susan,

Run msconfig from the start/search box, disable it in the start items. It is
just an HP add-on and is not necessary for normal operations.

The newest updated version has a problem in Xp & will not run. All u can do
is wait for another update from HP Just disable it from starting when
windows starts or install the older version which worked fine.....

Different but related problem: each time I boot, Windows Defender sees HP
Advisor as a change to the system, a real annoyance. After two months of
exchanging email with HP, a supervisor (finally) acknowledged that they were
getting calls on this, and that they were working on a patch that would
become part of HP updates. If you hear more, please post.
