I Like Vista..Won't Be Going Back To XP

Just like what the title says.

I bought a laptop last week with Vista on it. I liked it so much I
upgraded my PC. After using Vista, no way I'm going back to XP.

So, I'm not sure what everyone else's problem is. My 2 never crashes
and they ain't slow (I disabled Windows Search, that stupid indexing
service, ReadyBoost, and Tablet PC services).

Maybe, for some of you, it's time to put those DX machines six feet
under. LOL.

Below is the basic description of my machines just to show no
overclocking or a ridiculous amount of memory needed or no ridiculous
CPU speed necessary:

Laptop->Bought last week: Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHZ; 1 Gig of ram;
Integrated Video Graphics
PC->Gaming PC home build over a year ago: AMD 64 +3700 2.26 GHZ; 2
Gig of DDR; Dual Geforce 7800 GT SLI; with Sound Blaster Live! (the
old ass crap)...but, it still works.

The only thing I couldn't get to work was Norton AV 2005. So, I
downloaded avast! which I keep reading about.

Congrates on the new Laptop. I have to agree, I have not had to many problems with Vista and can not ever see myself go back to XP.

Thanks for something positive!! I bought a new Gateway desktop at Best Buy 3
weeks ago today with Vista Ultimate on it. It was the best desktop they had
to offer. Well, for the past 3 weeks, I've been reading so many negative
things and picking at my new computer that I was really wishing to get a
copy of Xp to put on here. I even searched to buy XP. But, as time has gone
by, I'm getting used to it and beginning to like it. I am the worse to pick
at anything new I buy so that was probably one of my problems. LOL

I play one game and that is The Sims 2 with all expansion packs.....actually
the 5th pack is out now...."Seasons". Well, at first I couldn't get it to
run right and the support team at Best Buy AND Gateway is for the birds.
Gateway told me I had the best driver..........from last October. LOL Well,
I finally got the video driver updated and that was the problem. HOORAY!!
The only downside to my new computer is the video card........it's a nVidia
GeForce 7300LE so that will be the first thing I replace shortly I hope.
It's not too bad though since installing the new driver. I may be wrong but
I think people who upgraded to Vista are having more problems than the ones
who are buying computers with Vista already installed........just IMHO of
course.

I couldn't agree more. When I installed Vista Home Premium I did a clean
install to a different hd than the one xp resided on so I could dual-boot. I
still haven't booted into xp since.

Sorry your laptop has only 2 cores.. its too slow for vista

you should have 4 cores at least to get the same performance you get with 1
core with XP

But then you still have the bad gui and all the other problems built into
the vista concept
that will never go away....

stay with vista.. you are free to make mistakes

Are you kidding me! The new GUI is primarily the reason I'm sticking
with Vista. It' fresh. XP is just so archaic, now. XP might as well
be Win98.

A couple years ago, I booked my first cruise, then I discovered some
web sites where people reviewed cruises they took. I was horrified to
discover that so many people reamed the ship I'd just put some hard
earned money down on. From the moment I checked in, though,
everything was wonderful. I had not one complaint, the service, food
and facilities were wonderful. I realized that some people aren't
happy unless they're complaining. That's what we're seeing here.
Vista Home Premium 64 bit is working fine for me, does what it's
supposed to and does it well.

I tend to agree. Bought an XP-equipped laptop in December.
I was leery about switching to Vista so I set it up for
dual-booting a few weeks ago. Haven't been booting back
into XP at all. Vista has been very dependable for me.

but an OS is serious stuff.. it is the platform for the advancement of
technology
and humanity too if you extend it.

It has to be extremely good.... you may like it, but I can assure you it has
problems
that you cannot see and that others will see
