Default OT: 2007 Launch in Seattle Tuesday

I found a surprise in my bag today- a copy of VISTA Ultimate complete with
product key. We all received a copy of Office 2007 Professional-- but the
VISTA CD was unannounced- and apparently not done in other cities.

So if you attended the Seattle launch Tuesday, Check your bags!

Apparently the Seattle launch did what no others did. Did you also get
Office 2007 (PK for download and Groove?--you should have--ck your bag.)

http://www.microsoft.com/business/l...up/default.mspx

"Receive your FREE copy of Microsoft Office Professional 2007 and Microsoft
Office Groove 2007* when you attend a Windows Vista, 2007 Microsoft Office
system, and Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 launch event near you!"

It says nothing about Vista, so all I can figure is MSFT gave people who
went to the Seattle launch Vista--a nice extra freebie.

It would have been a little far for some of us to travel.

Enjoy.

Build Number? This DVD maybe a RC- not the final product. After failing to
get Windows Ultimate Extras to work, I brgan to wonder if this was the final
product. When I ran winver from SEARCH, I get that I have Version 6-build
5840.

Will someone who bought the final release run winver.exe for me a reply with
your version number? Thanks

The final version number is 6000. What you got is a prerelease version
of Windows Vista as noted on it. It has time limit, but my experiment
indicates that reactivation is allowed so that one can keep using it as
long as one wishes. Another thing, the downloadable Windows Updates
appears limited to security fixes and certain driver updates, and
Ultimate Extras are not in them. Otherwise, the version 5840 is newer
than RC2 and probably virtually the same as RTM version.
