I have Vista business edition, upgraded from XP.
It was all fine for a while, but I noticed that searches didn't return results for items in the last few weeks. I went to 'indexing options' in the control panel and tried a 'rebuild' and later a 'reset to defaults' which apparently does a better job of resetting the indexing. Bu even after leaving the PC standing idle for a couple of hours, it still says "0 items indexed" and "indexing speed is reduced due to user activity" even though I'm not doing anything. There is no virus scan or anything currently active either that might delay indexing. Task manager shows searchindexer.exe sitting there doing nothing - I assume that's something related. I could try a system restore I suppose, but I have no idea when to go back to. Thanks for any ideas, |

That's the reason most folks just love Vista to death, like the plague. |

You don't see the value for this option on a laptop, on battery power? What
exactly is your point? "Kos" <tba.com> wrote in message news:jdljs39a5t4lgpls3am1tkqjcq2pueoksl@4ax.com... > It sure makes alot of sense for this feature. > That's the reason most folks just love Vista to death, like the > plague. |
