In Vista, some Web pages I view have huge type, others have type so tiny I
can hardly read it. Is there a way to smooth this out by making the Web page fit th window by default? Thanx, |

That is difficult because web pages often explicitely state which font and
sizes they want. If the web designer did not take into account differences in user screen resolutions, this will happen. In IE7, you can zoom in or out of a document using the magnifying glass and percentage in the bottom right corner. However, I don't think there is a setting to automatically adjust. -- /* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Robert Firth * * Windows Vista x86 RTM * * http://www.WinVistaInfo.org * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * */ "Chester GS" <Chester GS@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:339CA4E4-7820-48ED-ACF8-508E574E6B3E@microsoft.com... > In Vista, some Web pages I view have huge type, others have type so tiny I > can hardly read it. The size (width) of the web page is controlled by the code in the page.
Some pages expand to the full window width but most are limited to 800 pixels or1024 pixels so the developer doesn't have to deal with strange layouts if the page gets too wide. The font size has nothing to do with this anyway. You can try the Text size adjusment in Internet Explorer under view . . but this does not always control all fonts on every page. Or you can go to Display Dettings and chang the dpi from 100% to 125%. . . .. but this does not control all fonts on every web page either. You are experiencing the problem of a display resolution that is too high for your preference. Web content has not really been adjusted to match the high resolution screens. The lower resoltuion screen that you can find in an LCD now is a 19" 1280 x 1024 pixels. While looking at the web page, press "ctrl" and roll the mouse wheel.
