Default Plantronics Driver

Hi,
I purchased an .Audio 510 USB headset but am having major issue using it
with the RTM of Windows Vista Ultimate. The sound does not route to the
headset. The mic appears to be working.

I contacted Plantronics regarding a Vista driver and they said it was a
Vista problem - not theirs. Does anyone know of a drover will be released for
this headset?

Thanks,
Donal

I have a Plantronics DSP-500 USB headset and it works fine with Vista
Ultimate x64 RTM.

A couple of things for you to check:

(1) Go to device manager and under sound etc. devices, see if Vista
installed the "Plantronics Headset" driver (provided by Microsoft, it comes
with Vista).

(2) Also go to the Sounds applet in Control Panel and make sure the headset
is set as your default device (assuming this is what you want). I use
speakers by default but choose the headset specifically in VOIP program
(Skype, etc.) that allow overriding the Windows default.

Likewise, I have the DSP-500 USB on x64 RTM. THe only issue I had was
that it kept muting (microphone), then I found that Vista had
automagically ticked the mute box when it first installed the driver.
Since then (two months) it has been fine with Skype.

Admittedly, a different product to the OP, but probably not a far cry
from it.
