1. funny on MY start menu, when I put the mouse over COMPUTER, CONTROL PANEL, ETC. a little ICON appears at the top of the menu.
all in different colors. mikeyhsd@sport.rr.com "Tester" <Tester@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:653A2F60-A52E-4175-A532-F828F46D9029@microsoft.com... Even though Windows Vista has many new nice and exiting features, I think there are something got worse than the previous versions of Windows. I think you may not agree with me, but there might be quite a people who think like me. 1. Removed icons from the start menu item. As you know there are items like "Computer", "Connect to" and "Control panel" on this menu. On Windows XP, each had its own icons. But on Windows Vista the icons are gone. Icons are only shown at the top of the menu when the mouse pointer is hovering oh that item. Aren't pictures more quickly noticeable than texts? So many times I misclicked "Connect to" or "Computer" when I need to click "Control panel". 2. Simmilar icon colors Every icons are in blue or green. I can't figure out each from another quickly. Expecially at the file open dialogue. The icons at the left "Common places" got smaller and their color all look alike. 3. The good(?) old file association dialog is gone. Windwos Explorer-> Tools -> Folder options-> File association is gone! All I can now do on Vista is just to set the default opener application. I can't delete unwanted extensions or add or remove special commands like "open" or "print" 4. Start menu closes after item deletion As you know when you install many programs there exists many unnecessary items at the start menu. I usually right click on them and delete them. On Windows XP, the start menu didn't close so I can continue to delete another items but on Windows Vista, it closes right after deleting one item. Now I have to click start, All programs and the folder again. 5. Hard to open Network connections window. On Windows XP, Just click on the "Connect to" opened it but on Windows Vista, I have to Click on the Connect to, then View network computers and devices, then Network and sharing center, then manage network connections. It doesn't even appear on the Control Panel. 6. Can't customize Windows Explorer toolbar buttons. On Windows XP, I can add buttons I want, and remove unncessary buttons. But on Windows Vista, they're fixed. Whey there is a "Burn" button instead of "Copy","Move" or "Delete"? How many users would that often burn files directly from the Windows explorer? |
