I posted a message here on December 11 about exactly the same problem. I've
never figured out the answer - sometimes the cache gets created, sometimes
not. Interestingly, my flash drive is also a SanDisk 1gb (Cruzer Micro).
Maybe it has something to do with this particular flash drive. I have now
switched to another brand (an ATP Petito), and I haven't had any problems
with it (yet).
