Hi,
got a similar issue here. Am using vista ultimate RTM thru msdn. when i use the media center button, i hear the MCE music and all but the screen still shows the regular background. task bar shows MCE but when i click it, nothing and the pointer disapppears. pointer only returns if i click start few times. on the "switch betw windows" button, i can see the MCE screen asking about the setup options but if i click to it, same result..... nothing, and pointers off to a vacation. system is a 3800 X2, 1GB DDR2, dual 7600GS and 220 GB sata Raid 0 currently am runnning on nvidia's 96.85 beta drivers. Any suggestions? |

It's hard to say whats going on with your MCE
A good place to start would be to check if your graphics are working as they should, check if aero glass is working ok and maybe check for a different version of your video driver Also if you have any third party dvd playing software it might help if you uninstalled it "Sid" <Sid@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:CFADE4CB-820D-48FC-8D1E-45E2A17ADDAF@microsoft.com... > Hi, > > got a similar issue here. Hello all,
I have the same issue in both version vista, Home premium and Ultimate. I use the free codec 4.3.3 from Majorgeeks, when i try to play dvd file on my hardisk or Dvd-rom, i hear the sound but no image. With MP11 it's ok. Another issue, when you try to add some video folder on the local machine, go back to library and try to play the video, you can't find all folders that you just finish updating, but you can see all of folder exist when you go to remove the folder. withyard "xraycat" wrote: > I have the same issue under the same cicumstances. I'm getting the same message. Video drivers are up to date. I click on the
link... and nothing. Very strange. -- pb "Sid" wrote: > Hi, > > got a similar issue here. I had the exact same thing happen and I have the solution that worked for me.
Took me two months of resetting group policies and all that other junk.... Turns out I had installed a video player that had assumed the default position for my media player... As soon as I put media player back to the default, I no longer got the group policy error, and both media player and media center are working fine. Start-default programs-set program access and computer defaults-select microsoft windows and make sure media player is the default with access to media center and any other viseo programs you want to use. Hope this works for you as it did for me.. "pb florance" wrote: > I'm getting the same message. Video drivers are up to date.
