I have a couple of photos which were accidentally edited (spray painted over
and drawn on with MS Paint program). The modifications were saved, however, I noticed when the image is viewed as thumbnails in windows explorer, the pictures displays as if it was never altered. But if I open the actual image, the modifications show up. Since I can view the original unaltered image as a thumbnail, I would like to know if I can somehow restore the image to it's original condition. Is this possible? Thanks. |

Try right-clicking on the picture and choose "Restore previous versions"
from the context menu. Because its built for Vista, it was first introduced in Server 2003, and XP
Pro had it, but you had to be connected to a Windows Server 2003 network to take adavantage of it. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E8E5CC039D51E3DB!9709.entry "Julius" <Julius@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1E181EBA-220A-451A-AC65-6B3C6945513F@microsoft.com... > This seems to work only in Windows Vista > > > "Dale" wrote: > >> Try right-clicking on the picture and choose "Restore previous versions" >> from the context menu. >> >> HTH, >> >> Dale >> >> "fm78" <fm78@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message >> news:E9A66669-4A76-4A55-A9E9-55850B8A043B@microsoft.com... >> >I have a couple of photos which were accidentally edited (spray painted >> >over >> > and drawn on with MS Paint program). You have to enable the Volume Shadow Copy, Click Start > Control Panel >
Administrative Tools > Services >select Volume Shadow Copy > Play. Of course, it has to be setup on the Server to work in conjunction with client. -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E8E5CC039D51E3DB!9709.entry "Julius" <Julius@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F4DBA5C3-4DEB-4F7F-8C62-78046D9A21BE@microsoft.com... > Many thanks for the explanation, in fat I do have XP pro running but I do > not > know how to get connected to a Windows Server 2003 network... any other > idea > of how to "undo" the changes? > > Someone told me there's en embebed thumbnail in the jpg file where changes > in the actual picture where not saved (do not know how is that possible) > therefore the original image is only in that thumbnail.
