Any success on the above (subject)?
I still can't get over 1280x1024, and usually have to resort to about 1280x768 to get the aspect ratio correct. This is x64 Vista Release. -Rob |

Try the nVidia Beta drivers v96.33, this was the version before the
RC2 version out now. On Tue, 21 Nov 2006 19:57:19 -0500, "Robert wilkens" <RobWilkens@hotmail.com> wrote: >Any success on the above (subject)? > >I still can't get over 1280x1024, and usually have to resort to about >1280x768 to get the aspect ratio correct. > >This is x64 Vista Release. > >-Rob |

You may also try using the standard driver in Vista.
Now, if neither the standard Vista drivers, or the updated frivers from your hardware manufacturer (nVidia or ATI) do the trick, you can get an application called Powerstrip from EnTech Taiwan (either the full registered Version (V3.70) or the evaluation mode, which will help you get the resolution you are seeking. Me, I am running a 7600GS and a 19"W monitor at 1400x900, using the current nVidia driver for RC2 and Powerstrip. SIDENOTE: If you choose to use powerstrip, you will notice a performance jump, because it does overclock your GPU. A plus for Vista. Hope this helps :-) "Robert wilkens" <RobWilkens@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:E0AF0E57-4A4E-4196-B19B-9C5AE4DC50D9@microsoft.com... > Any success on the above (subject)? > > I still can't get over 1280x1024, and usually have to resort to about > 1280x768 to get the aspect ratio correct. > > This is x64 Vista Release. > > -Rob |

FYI;
The temporary work-around I thought would work worked : I used a regular VGA cable to connect to the monitor instead of the DVI port cable. For some reason, that lets me get 1440x900. -Rob "Robert wilkens" <RobWilkens@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:E0AF0E57-4A4E-4196-B19B-9C5AE4DC50D9@microsoft.com... > Any success on the above (subject)? > > I still can't get over 1280x1024, and usually have to resort to about > 1280x768 to get the aspect ratio correct. > > This is x64 Vista Release. > > -Rob |
