I've noticed other emails mentioning programs crashing (Outlook 2003) when
external operations are invoked...importing PST files...editting APPLOAD briefcases (AutoCAD crashes and burns upon "close"ing the APPLOAD function after making the edits)... Something in Vista does NOT like when the user tries to do something that it feels circumnavigates the Use Account Control (UAC)... Is the a way to turn off UAC?? Pete |

You can try running the application with Administrative priviledges to
circumvent it. Right click the applications executable > click Run as Administrator. Instructions for turning off UAC available John Barnetts Vista FAQ page: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/turn_o...unt_control.htm -- Andre Blog: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com My Vista Quickstart Guide: http://adacosta.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!E8E5CC039D51E3DB!9709.entry "Peter Naschke" <naschkeps@iowatelecom.net> wrote in message news:37CD6242-2703-4EEF-8F21-9E33565AD433@microsoft.com... > I've noticed other emails mentioning programs crashing (Outlook 2003) when > external operations are invoked...importing PST files...editting APPLOAD > briefcases (AutoCAD crashes and burns upon "close"ing the APPLOAD function > after making the edits)... > > Something in Vista does NOT like when the user tries to do something that > it feels circumnavigates the Use Account Control (UAC)... > > Is the a way to turn off UAC?? > > Pete |
